Modern Slavery Policy
This statement is issued in accordance with Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, outlining the measures that CTS Europe Limited has implemented and continues to uphold to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chain.
Modern slavery includes practices such as slavery, servitude, human trafficking, and forced labour. CTS Europe Limited maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of modern
slavery. We are dedicated to conducting our business ethically, with integrity and transparency. To this end, we have established robust systems and controls to effectively safeguard against modern slavery in our business and supply chain.
Our business
CTS Europe Limited specializes in delivering application-based safety solutions for the global laboratory market. Our operations encompass every aspect of design, manufacturing, service, and testing. We collaborate with a select network of specialized suppliers to ensure the highest quality support for our business.
Our high risk areas
Given the bespoke nature of our operations, we maintain close collaboration with our supply chain, particularly with suppliers located near our manufacturing facility in Portsmouth. By
nurturing relationships with skilled and geographically proximate suppliers, we believe we effectively mitigate potential high-risk areas associated with modern slavery.
Our policies
We have implemented several internal policies to ensure that we conduct our business in an ethical and transparent manner. These include:
1. Anti-Slavery Policy: This policy outlines our organisation’s commitment to combating modern slavery and provides guidance for employees on how to identify potential
instances of such practices and where to seek assistance.
2. Recruitment Policy: Our robust recruitment policy includes thorough checks for eligibility to work in the UK, ensuring that we safeguard against human trafficking and the exploitation of individuals forced to work against their will.
3. Whistleblowing Policy: We have established a whistleblowing policy that empowers all employees to raise concerns about the treatment of colleagues or practices within our business or supply chain without fear of retaliation.
4. CTS Code of Conduct: Our Code of Business Conduct clearly defines the expected behaviours for both employees and suppliers, reinforcing our commitment to ethical practices and accountability.
Our suppliers
Within our robust business procedures, we operate a supplier policy and maintain a preferred supplier list. We conduct due diligence on all suppliers before allowing them to become a preferred supplier. This due diligence includes basic checks to ensure that particular organisation has never been convicted of offenses relating to modern slavery and we continue to monitor this.
In addition to the above, as part of our contract with suppliers, we require that they confirm to us that:
1. They have taken steps to eradicate modern slavery within their business.
2. They hold their own suppliers to account over modern slavery.
3. For UK suppliers, that they pay their employees at least the national minimum wage.
4. For international suppliers, that they pay their employees any prevailing minimum wage applicable within their country of operations.
5. We may terminate the contract at any time should any instances of modern slavery come to light.
Our procurement understand the signs of modern slavery and what to do if they suspect that it is taking place within our supply chain.
Our performance indicators
We will know the effectiveness of the steps that we are taking to ensure that slavery and/or human trafficking is not taking place within our business or supply chain if:
· No reports are received from employees, the public, or law enforcement agencies to indicate that modern slavery practices have been identified.
